D Journey

In March 2003, Likas Baptist Church commissioned a team of 12 with their families to pioneer a new church in a predominantly Chinese community around the Lido, Sri Kepayan vicinity.

Right from the start, D’Gap Baptist Church has been given a community vision. Hence its community-care arm called GoodStep Services was thrust out. Significant in this community vision was the establishment of GoodStep Learning Centre, started with the aims of upgrading the standard of English learning for the community besides providing a focal gathering place for the said community.

God has been leading us step by step in a faith stretching venture to serve and bless community. Walk with us to serve God’s heart and compassion for community.

The Vision

To penetrate the Sri Kepayan / Austral Park and vicinity with the Good News of Jesus Christ by deeds and words. In short – community penetration (CP).

D Leadership

Pastor Serena was born in Sandakan but God called her to Kota Kinabalu for higher education. She was a teacher in Tshung Tsin Secondary School, KK for 9 years prior to receiving her theological education in London Bible Colleage (now known as London School of Theology) in the 80s.

She has the passion to see leaders and intercessors rising to their full potential. She has ministered in West Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Nepal. Activating the saints in the prophetic besides taking prayer journeys to Vietnam, Israel, Guatemala and etc.

1988 – 2003 Served as Associate Pastor in her home church, Likas Baptist Church
March 2003 Commissioned by Likas Baptist Church with a team of commissioned a team of 12 and their families to pioneer D’Gap Baptist Church with a vision to penetrate the surrounding Lido and Sri Kepayan community with the Good News of Jesus Christ by word & deeds. Simultaneously GoodStep Services was founded as the community-care arm of the church.
March 2003 GoodStep Learning Centre was started with the aims of upgrading the standard of English learning for the community besides providing a gathering place for the community.
